The move to our new bocce facility has been completed. We are located in the
“The New Beginnings
Community Center"
(The former Frankfort Elementary School)
Directions:
Turn north at the Dairy Queen on east main street or any of the two streets before. Any of these three streets will take you directly to the old school complex. Once there, turn in the driveway that runs along the east side of the building where there is ample parking. Enter the double doors on the buildings northeast corner . We are now in full operation with "free"community play every Tuesday evening beginning at 6:00 PM.
Bocce USA is a not for profit indoor Bocce playing and
training facility located in the The New Beginnings
Community Center in West Frankfort, Illinois BOCCE USA is a place where residents of Southern Illinois have the opportunity to play and enjoy the 7000 year old sport of bocce .
BOCCE USA is home to the only indoor organized
weekly bocce league in Illinois south of Chicago.
There is NO charge for organized "community play" held
on each Tuesday beginning at 6:00 PM.
BOCCE USA private league play is on Monday nights
beginning in October 8th 2007 and ending in March of 2008.
The league has eleven locally sponsored teams. The league is schedules for twenty-two nights of competition with each team rolling three games per night. Team points are culuminated nightly consisting of points earned for three games, and five bonus points for each game won creating the running weekly standings.
At the end of the season, teams are paid fifty cents per point for each point earned. Team awards, individual awards are also presented at the BOCCE USA league banquet. Snacks are provided nightly by the league. Italian Beef, Pizza, Spaghetti, etc special dinners are held many times during the season and it's all free.
At the end of the season, teams will play one game on "Fun Night" against their rival opponent. Cash money will be awarded per point to all players scoring points. It's possible for any player to win as much as approximately $100.00 on this special night.
All players pay a $10.00 league fee each Monday night. They are assessed NO more money during the season. Team sponsors
pay for team shirts and are assessed a $100.00 league fee for the entire season. All sponsors receive much media coverage during the season. Bocce USA has a waiting list for any business wanting to sponsor a league bocce team.
Citizens interested in bocce should come out and get acquainted and enjoy the best kept secret in Southern Illinois. After five years of bocce competition at Bocce USA, there has NOT been one argument, misunderstanding or any severely upset player. The only senior players not now participating at Bocce USA are those that are unable due to sickness or have moved away from Southern Illinois.
Bocce USA is very proud of this feat and consist of a great group of helpful, polite and respectful individuals.
Undesirable characters, trouble-makers, and deadbeats are NOT
tolerated within the confines of Bocce USA. One bad apple can spoil an entire case and ruin what we have strived to accomplished in the past six years. We intend to keep fresh fruit in our basket at Bocce USA.
