 UMW's Mae Winchester Named to USTFCCA All-Academic TeamJuly 14, 2008 University of Mary Washington junior All-American Mae Winchester has been named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Association's women's Division III All-Academic Track and Field team, as was released today. Winchester, who finished eighth in the 400 hurdles at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in May, also excelled academically in 2007-08, earning her place on the academic team.
•more  UMW's Justin German Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Track & Field TeamJune 5, 2008University of Mary Washington junior Justin German (Harrisonburg, Va./Harrisonburg) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors Association District 3 All-Academic team, as was announced today. German, a junior political science major, carried a perfect 4.0 GPA both semesters this year, and carries a 3.75 overall cumulative GPA. He won the CAC Championship in the high jump this year for the Eagle track team.

Winchester ran a time of 62.35 seconds, and joins senior Cristy Falcone as UMW's first women's track All-Americans since 2000.

Winchester, who has the fifth fastest time entering the finals, set a new school record in prelims on Thursday with a time of 61.68 seconds, bettering her old school record by three-fourths of a second. Winchester will compete in the 400 meter hurdle finals on Saturday.
