Box Score The Hawks met the College of Idaho later that same night and couldn't hold on against a revenge win for the Lady Yotes, dropping the game 5-3, with temps in the 30's.  Box Score The next morning came too early, with unrelenting temperatures in the 30 degree range.  HNU needed heaters in the dugout but didn't thaw enough to stop Concordia (Portland) in a 5-0 loss. Box Score HNU's next opponent later that same morning and was a rematch with Eastern Oregon, who bested the Hawks to a 10-6 loss. Box Score HNU wasn't done with Eastern Oregon for the day, since they played their 3rd game of the tournament that afternoon.  The Hawks avenged their previous loss that day, beating Eastern Oregon for the 2nd of 3 games, 9-4. Box Score The last day of the tournament had HNU facing Concordia again in the freezing morning opener.  The Hawks couldn't hold on to a 3 run lead into the 6th, as Concordia generated 3 runs in each of the last 2 innings to overcome HNU, 6-3. Box Score Holy Names closed out the trip to Caldwell playing host school, College of Idaho, in the afternoon game.  C of I jumped out and held onto a 2 run lead, which the Hawks asnwered to with 1 run in each of the last 3 innings.  The Yotes nipped the HNU comeback by scoring 4 runs in a strong 6th inning.  The Hawks fell 6-3 to C of I and hurried home to warmer weather.  Box Score February 27, 2008 Strong Pitching Leads to Sweep of HNU La Mirada, CA - Biola pitchers pitched back-to-back shutouts as Biola swept a non-conference doubleheader against Holy Names University on Wednesday afternoon at Freedom Field in La Mirada. The Eagles improve to 6-4 on the season with the wins while the Hawks fall to 5-12. In the first game HNU got the first two batters to reach via a walk and hit by pitch, then moved them to second and third on a wild pitch. However, Biola's pitcher was able to work out of the inning with a pair of strikeouts and an infield pop-out. HNU scattered six hits and struck out eight times during the game. Unfortunately, when the Hawks got on the base, they stranded 10 runners there. In the second game HNU was threatening with the bases loaded but Biola was able to get out of the inning. In the 4th, Biola was able to score 3 runs off of their 5 hits. Biola's offense pounded out 20 hits in the two games to support its pitchers.
