We are glad to join this community of winter swimming.We swim at Humber Bay Park in Etobicoke since 1997. Every Sunday at the noon.We don’t write the manuals of winter swimming. This might seem a little soon to be announcing the first winter swim of 2008, but bear with me..We were thinking about the 19th of October, 2008, 7pm. The reason? Well I met a lovely girl on the subway today and it reminded me of how this all started, and how many people I tried to “recruit” that said they were scared of freezing to death (this won’t happen) so didn’t want to try it.Therefore if we start a wee bit earlier this year that excuse won’t be valid!With that in mind and as I mentioned, the first swim will be at Cherry Beach [Google map it] (walk to the end of Cherry Street until you hit the lake) at 7pm on October the 23rd 2008. Be there with towels, a smile on your face and a hot drink if you fancy.Footwear of some sort is recommended as the stones can be a little sharp!Email me (Roo) or Shannon if you have any questions..
