 Player of the Month - July Jul 02, 2008 - 7:57 PM - by mas cambios King Pietersen was the worthy winner for June, with a string of consistent performance. Can anyone match or indeed beat that and take the crown for July? All you have to do is post up any notable performances to be in with a shout. Qualifying period is for the month of July, so that's from the the 1st to the 31st.All games count, but please say what the match type was (20/30/40/50 overs etc). Jun 23, 2008 - 10:13 AM - by mas cambios Welcome back to the newly updated simply Cricket. This is only the start of many changes, which will be happening over the next few months.
Over the coming days there will be a raft of new features being added, as well as further updates to the look and feel of the forums. The best place to start is the new FAQ (see the navigation bar up top) as this will help you learn more about things such as the new social groups and post tags.
One thing you will notice is the lack of custom profile settings (batting position/bowling action) and avatars. This was due to an error in the previous database and meant that we were unable to bring them across. You can add a new avatar and update the custom user settings through your Control Panel. We apologise for this and hope you don’t mind spending the few minutes it‘ll take to redo them.
Of course, if you have any questions, then please feel free to pm myself or one of the other team members. Also, as with any software upgrade there may be one or two initial teething bugs (despite our best efforts), so if you notice anything untoward, please contact myself or AB via pm and we will get it sorted as soon as possible.
Again, thanks for bearing with us during the recent period of downtime whilst we updated; we look forward to the next phase of simply Cricket, and hope you do as well!

The bat looks foreign to him, almost as though he was plucked from the crowd, had it shoved in his hands and sent out to the middle. His problem is that he’s suffering from a poor run of form, something which can affect all of us, from the Sunday slogger to 35 test veteran.The question is ‘what can I do to get myself out of a slump?' and to be honest there is no easy answer, especially as the drop in form may be caused by many things. It may be mental or a technique flaw through to downright bad luck. However, there are some things you can try, which we’ll take a look at here.It’s good to talkThe first thing to do is to talk, talk to your coach, captain, team mates or whoever. Ask them is they have spotted anything which may be contributing to your undoing. Often it’s hard to be truly critical of ourselves, but others tend to have no problems! They may spot something that you’re missing or just be able to give your ego a boost, which is no bad thing! The next approach is to simply get time at the crease, scratch around but no matter what try to stay there! Some people believe that it only takes one blazing shot to pull themselves out of the doldrums and fins form again, others swear by just being out there.
