Ski Style Interview with Sergey Agapov Translated

Posted on November 18, 2008 by Roussel sskistyle1Ski Style, a Russian ski magazine recently did an interview with the well know Russian skiboard leader and guru Sergey Agapov. Sergey was nice enough to get us a translation of the interview. Here it is:“Two years ago some funny guys came to our booth at the Ski exhibition. They listed the magazine and they told: “We have an interesting thing for you” – gave me some paper where it was shown the black-white ski man with the strange and small skies, with grab and it was shown www.skiboarder.ru” down. Than – it seemed that I hadn’t seen them. During the long period of time I had this paper in my bag than I put it on the table in my office. Cleaning the work table after the done work I every time found the paper and thought “Something new!!!”- wrote some letters but no answers. Finally I forgot about skiboarder.ru. In the middle of last season Alexander Chizhov came with the news to the redaction office that he would go to Romania and than to Dubai with skiboarding team. He offered to make the report about it . Of course, I agreed. A lot of time ago Alexander came to me with Agapov Sergey, the director of web-site www.skiboarder.ru, the ideologist and the organizer (together with his brother Andrey) of skiboarding in Russia. Sergey opened for me the skiboarder world. Alexander Chizhov helped him. Read more » Filed under: Interview, Skiboard | No Comments »

New Exclaim Riser Plates 0809

Posted on November 5, 2008 by Roussel exclaimrisersExclaim has redesigned their riser plates this season. The new design is based on traditional non-releasable bindings.Base plate adjustment for easy binding movement, no messing about moving the toe and heel pieces, the whole top plate moves, by just undoing 3 allen screws. Specically designed for skiboards, with 4×4 and 4×10 fittings. Good clearance to allow skiboard to flex. British engineering at it’s best,  manufactured in the UK. Summit 0809 Skiboards

Posted on October 29, 2008 by Roussel Summit comes back this year with the same line up as last but with a new direction in graphic styles. Summit was known for having very simple looks and graphics such as the simple wood grain which marked the debut of the Custom 110cm two season ago, to the series of Native American art on their last years Custom and Maurader skiboards. All Summit Skiboards have wood cores, symmetrical twin tip design and aluminum reinforced plates under the top sheet for releasable binding mounting. Here’s a quick break down of the models if you didn’t already know:Nomad 99cm: Tip Width: 13cm, Waist Width: 11cm, Turning Radius: 6.8mCustom 110cm: Tip Width: 14cm, Waist Width: 11cm, Turning Radius: 5.34mMaurader 125cm: Tip Width: 14.7, Waist Width: 11.7, Turning Radius: N/AFor more information and specs on these models check out the Skiboards.com Filed under: Hard Goods, News, Skiboard | 1 Comment »

New Bomber Elite2 Bindings

Posted on October 28, 2008 by Roussel For 2009 Bomber is proud to introduce the redesigned Elite2 skiboard binding.Strength & Stiffness - Bomber has had less than .1% warranty issues since the birth of their bindings. The reason for this is the materials used to craft their amazing boot to board interfaces: High grade aluminum, stainless steel fasteners, 1/4″(6.35mm) stainless steel bails, and small amounts of moon rock make them the stiffest and strongest bindings on the face of the earth. Bomber believes the flex of an alpine setup should come from the boots and not the bindings. There is no benefit in alpine bindings with slop or play. Bomber bindings give you increased responsiveness and greater control of your boards.Suspension - The Elite elevated base plate allows for more natural board flex than any other bindings on the market. Bomber has enhanced this feature with urethane elastomer bumpers (patented) that act as mini shock absorbers for your bindings. The urethane material is specially formulated to absorb the vibration frequency that makes your board “chatter-out” on those hard packed turns. There are three hardness levels of bumpers available.. You will feel the difference in your boards by optimizing it’s natural flex with the Elite.User Friendly - Bomber products will always have the end-user in mind. It is for thisreason that the Elite installs, adjusts and is maintained with a single 5mm Allen wrench.Boot Compatibility - Most hard shell boots (DIN Standard adult ski/snowboard hard boots)Boot Size - US women’s 4 to US men’s 13 (Mondo 23 to Mondo 32)Bail Size - 1/4″ (6.35mm) High Grade Stainless SteelInsert Pattern - 4×4Warranty - 5 years from date of purchase for the original owner Filed under: Hard Goods, News, Skiboard | 1 Comment »

White Noise: Flobots - Fight With Tools

Posted on October 26, 2008 by Roussel Its been a while since I’ve heard a decent new alternative rock/hip hop group. Maybe because it is harder to juggle both styles without sounding like a Linkin Park, or Limp Bizkit rip off.Well looks like Flobots was exactly what the genre needed. Lyrics are dense and charged with political and social issues, and other that rapping, some tracks feature spoken words and others more melodic singing. The heavily emphasize drums and bass lead the music while the guitar, violin and trumpet switch around taking turns in the spot light, giving a progressive flair to the tracks. The seven piece band from Denver, Colorado has been successful in all sorts of areas from indie scenes to rap venues, and their progressive fusion of styles is no doubt the factor. Their main stream breakthrough was with the track Handle Bars, topping charts of Modern rock radio in April 2008.On the whole, even if i founds some tracks feel a little hollow or dry in comparison to some other more notable tracks, the album itself holds up and does the genre very high justice.Linkage:flobots.commyspace.com/flobots Filed under: White Noise | No Comments »
