He was a good manager, but never really found his niche as the GM of ECW or as a wrestler. I’m sure all you PWBites out there wish him the best in his future endeavors.There was another interesting WWE roster note out today, courtesy of PW Insider. Apparently Ted DiBiase has been booked in the lead role for The Marine 2, so he won’t be on Raw anytime soon. The movie will be straight-to-DVD. Sweet.Also, in another roster note, DJ Gabriel will be debuting on ECW tonight. He’s a UK-born wrestler who’s real name is Steve Lewington. According to Wikipedia, his signature moves include a snap swinging neckbreaker, a sitout hangman’s jawbreaker, a Tornado DDT and a reverse spinning heel kick. Sounds like he has some nice potential if those moves are in his moveset. We’ll see what WWE does with him.Finally, TNA has signed a new wrestler. From TNAWrestling.com:TNA recently signed UK “Gladiator” star Nick Aldis, who was in the United States two weeks ago to prepare for his upcoming debut in TNA. Aldis was known as “Oblivion” on the UK version of Gladiator. TNAwrestling.com will be providing more info on Aldis on the coming days! Orton’s matches are always judged on how often he goes into the headlock, so we’ll see if that’s within the first two minutes of the match–it usually is.Also featured on tonight’s show wil be “Stephanie McMahon’s Raw Superstar Forum.” That segment will kick off Raw, and promises to be oh-so-exciting. Nothing like losing your audience to football in the first five minutes of the show.Also, in other Raw-related news, PW Torch is reporting that Triple H is up to play the role of Thor in the movie Thor. I’m a big fan of the Thor comics published by Marvel (DC Sucks!), and I think he’d be a fine choice–he looks just like the guy. The story was very positive when it came to Lesnar, but it also took an obvious pot shot at UFC PPVs:Critics have noted that many of the fights on the UFC pay-per-view ended in the first round, leaving UFC producers scrambling to fill the three-hour event with content. The dearth of hearty competition left many viewers to watch less prestigious under-card fights and only served to bolster claims that UFC pay-per-view events can often be a “crap shoot” in regards to filling the full three hours.They make a good point, but things actually turned out pretty well last night–since some of the main card’s fights were so short, we got to see a lot of great action from the prelims, as well. In fact, the show was on the air for three airs and was pretty action-packed, in my opinion.I think this is pretty ironic statement coming out of the same organization that put on ECW Decemenber to Dismember 2006–if I remember correctly, that show was like 2 1/2 hours max and ranks up there as one of the biggest rip-offs in PPV history.In conclusion: Hey pot, you’re black.Puff, Puff, KeepWritten by jsnwwf on November 16th, 2008 in News, WWE, Wrestling Industry. Another planned push for the wrestler has been slowed down.No word yet on who the wrestler in question is, but it is not MVP, who is on a thirteen match losing streak on television. MVP’s status in WWE is due to a number of other factors, mainly saying a rude comment to drug testing official back in August.Up until this point, a failed test for pot resulted in a $1,000 fine. There was a feeling it was a “pot excuse tax” because it calms one down after performing and helps them cope with injuries.
