Introduction
The Wicked Adventure Sprint Series is a fast paced, dynamic adventure race series that will challenge you and your team. All four of the sprint races -
Wicked Mountain,
Wicked Urban,
Wicked Gorge, and
Wicked Ocean
- are designed to provide the seasoned racer with a challenge they will be proud to have completed. We also recognise that beginning to intermediate racers need opportunities to gain experience, so we give them that opportunity in this series in a shorter race format.
Race in a Day
To keep your travel time and expenses to a minimum, we've designed most of the Wicked Adventure Sprint Series races as "One Day Participation" events. Race locations are all within a one to two hour drive from Portland. Racers will be able to show up the morning of the race, complete an accelerated check-in and gear check, and complete the race, all in one day.
For racers located in the Portland Metro area, this means you can leave your home early on the day of the race, and be back home late that night. For racers from outside the Portland Metro area, this condensed race agenda should make it somewhat easier for you, too - no day-before check-in.
To do this, the Wicked Adventure Sprint Series will start slightly later in the morning than you may be used to, allowing you time to travel to the venue. Some teams may end up completing the race in the twilight or even the dark, which will provide an exciting new dimension for some of you!
The Ocean race series finale is the exception to this - its early-morning start requires check-in the previous afternoon or evening.
Pro Course
The Pro Course is the longer format course in the sprint series, designed for experienced racers. Teams will complete this challenging course in 6 to 12 hours (5 to 10 hours for the Mountain Race). There are aggressive time cut-offs that you as a team will have to meet to keep racing on this course. Teams that miss the time cut-offs will be moved down to a shortened format of the course to keep them racing. We believe that all teams should have the chance to finish the race in either the full or shortened format.
Sport Course
For those racers that are new to Adventure Racing, or those interested in completing a much shorter course format before moving into the longer distances, we provide the Sport Course. This format takes 3 to 6 hours (2 to 5 Hours for the Mountain Race) to complete, and most teams should be able to finish this course. The Sport Course provides a challenging race for beginning to intermediate racers.
Sprint Series Standings
Compete for the 2005 Wicked Adventure Sprint Series Champions title! There will also be prizes and standings for the individual races.

Making friends, family, and spectators feel welcome
at the events is important to us! We offer event sites and facilities where staff, volunteers, and friends and families of racers will be as comfortable as possible, including whenever possible nearby parking, bathrooms, shade, a welcoming atmosphere, and of course beautiful settings in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest. So join us to root for your racer and enjoy a day outside!
