Jack Sprague No. 60 Wyler.com Toyota Tundra Preview Round 25 of 25 – Homestead-Miami Speedway – Ford 200 Jack Sprague heads to Homestead-Miami Speedway this week looking to put an end to an eventful season. HMS has been a very successful track for the three-time NCTS champion but victory has somehow eluded him. Sprague looks to score his first victory at Homestead this weekend and finish the 2008 season on a high note. SPRAGUE ON HMS: “I have done pretty well at Homestead in my career but just never been able to win there. The track allows for multiple grooves to come into play which is helps getting your truck to handle. You lose grip there pretty quick on tires so you may need to move your line around as the race progresses. Overall the track is just a fun place to race on and we look forward to having some fun on Friday night.” SPRAGUE ON CONCLUSION OF 2008 SEASON: “It is no secret that this has not been an ideal season for me. What started out as something very promising has not played out like I thought or had hoped it would. I just want to come into this week and get a good finish under our belt and put this season in the books and move on to 2009.” SPRAGUE ON EXCITING CHAMPIONSHIP BATTLE: “Last week was very bizarre and something that no one could have ever guessed would have happened. It seemed like no one really wanted to take control of the championship. But what it has created is one heck of a show on Friday night. I have been a part of a few close championship battles and it has you nervous and excited at the same time. I am sure Johnny and Ron are going through a lot of emotions but what more could the fans of this series ask for – that’s why many people call the Truck Series the best racing out there.” STREAK ON THE LINE: Jack Sprague has one more chance this Friday night at Homestead to keep one of his records intact. For the past nine consecutive seasons in the Truck Series, Sprague has won a race as a fulltime NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver. If Sprague can win this weekend, his streak will go to an unprecedented ten straight seasons with a win. CONGRATULATIONS, TOYOTA: Once again in the Truck Series, Toyota has won its third Manufacturers’ Championship. Toyota clinched the championship on October 31 in Texas, but it can match the greatest number of victories (13) it has had in one season, with a win in Homestead. THANKS, CRAFTSMAN: This Friday night’s race at Homestead-Miami Speedway will bring to an end the partnership between Craftsman and the Truck Series. Craftsman has been the title sponsor of the series since its inception in 1995. In 2009, a new partnership will begin as Camping World will be coming on board to sponsor the Truck Series. COMING TO THE WHITE FLAG: Through the 24 completed races of the 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, Sprague has had a season plagued with bad luck. Despite the misfortunes that have taken place, Sprague has shown why he is one of two three-time NCTS champions, as he has recorded five top-five finishes, along with nine top-ten finishes. He has completed 97.1% of the laps competed (3831 of 3945) and led a total of 64 laps. Sprague’s season average starting position is 9.2, as he has won one Keystone Light Pole Award, and his season average finishing position is 13.7. SPRAGUE AT HOMESTEAD: In 11 starts at the South Florida track, Sprague has eight top-five and nine top-ten finishes, recording his best finish of second three times, one of which was the inaugural race at the 1.5-mile oval in 1996. Sprague has completed 98.5% of laps competed (1656 of 1681) and has led a total of 257 laps. Sprague’s average starting position is 9.5 and his average finishing position is 6.5. HOMESTEAD CHASSIS: Wyler Racing crew chief John Quinn has chosen Chassis No. 120 for Friday’s night race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This truck was most recently raced in Texas a few weeks ago where Sprague piloted it to a 15th-place finish.
