Meeting of EBU, IBU and TV companies – broadcasters.
On the 21st of May 2008 in Vienna (Austria) was held the meeting of European Broadcast Union, International Biathlon Union and TV companies – broadcasters of the international biathlon competitions. From Organizing Committee of the 8th World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk the following representatives of the TV and Radio Company “Ugra”: general director Oleg Urushev, the chief of the technical department Olga Zhivaga, director of the TV biathlon broadcasting Irina Chukomina took part in the meeting.
On the meeting the questions connected with the work of the corresponding World Cups of the season 2007/2008 were taken up, the analyses of the transmissions was made, all the comments and recommendations were heard out. Also during the meeting the project of the broadcasting program for future season was taken up and discussed. The confirmation of the competitions program will be made during the OC and IBU meeting.
Welcome to the IBU Biathlon World Championships 2011 in Khanty-Mansiysk!
At various times Khanty-Mansiysk Nordic Ski Centre has become the venue of the large competitions in biathlon, but the year 2011 will be peculiar in its fate - this year already the second World championships, trusted to the hospitable Ugra land, will take place. It will give a great impulse to the Nordic Ski Centre development and improvement.
By the World Championships 2011 it is planned to extend existing courses in Nordic Ski Centre, improve the system of making snow, settle the commentator cabins in more convenient zone of the northern tribunes, make provision with the placement for the TV-studios, pavilion for the spectators rest, and tribune for the VIP guests. Also it is planned to settle new stationary video panel, and also a new system of data and timing service, increase the amount of team cabins. Not far from the Nordic Ski Centre a new hotel will be built.
The planning changes will let the organizers worthily meet the participants and guests of the Championships and navigate the competition at the high organizational level. And the spectators will be able to get maximum pleasure, positive emotions and enter into the spirit of the great sport event.
E.ON Ruhrgas IBU World Cup 8 in Khanty-Mansiysk is over. This time it was represented by three competitions: sprint, pursuit and mass start.
Four bronze medals of IBU World Cup 8 are in account of Russian team: two of them belong to Andrey Makoveev (sprint, pursuit competitions), Albina Akhatova (sprint competition) and Svetlana Sleptsova (mass start competition) have also bronze medals.
In spite of main competitions there was unusual relay on the 8th of March. Its participants are the champions of the Olympics and the World Championships of the past years.
Next year Khanty-Mansiysk will be glad to meet the best biathletes of the world for traditional IBU World Cup Final 2008/2009.
