Contact Us StoreLinks Wahoo Project Third Annual Hydro Antiques Road Show  Chances are you’ve watched a PBS broadcast of Antiques Roadshow and wondered whether some valuable treasure lies undiscovered in your own attic. Could that old vase be a genuine Tiffany? Was that raggedy old bear really a collectible German Stieff? Is that bizarre painting from Aunt Ella’s house a lost Picasso? Maybe you’ve been looking in the wrong footlocker. You’ve got until November 21st to search your junk drawers, closets and file cabinets for your new gold nugget. That’s when the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum will host the third annual Hydro Antiques Road Show. Expert memorabilia collectors will be on hand to appraise your old hat covered with hydro and Seafair pins, your old photographs, autographs, clothing, uniforms and toys. The Road Show is free to museum members, $5.00 to non-members. Expert appraisers will be on-hand beginning at 7:00 PM. The most intriguing treasurers of the evening will be appraised in a special presentation beginning at 8:00 PM. Coffee and dessert will be served. More... Motor Sports 2008  Motor Sports 2008, November 7th, 8th, & 9th at the Tacoma Dome, will be the largest show of its kind ever held in the Northwest! The show will include hundreds of the most famous and historical vehicles ever seen in the Northwest under one roof including: • The largest collection of hydroplanes, both vintage and new, ever displayed. • Private collections of some of the Northwest's leading racing families. • 100's of vintage and collector motorcycles. • 100's of hot rods and custom cars. • A large collection of race cars from NASCAR to Indy Cars to Dragsters. "Meet and Greets" with many of the Northwest's most famous drivers - Chip Hanauer, Derrike Cope, Pat Austin, Bucky Austin, Jerry Ruth, and more. It will be a display that will excite fans of all ages. A show that will bring back fond memories of our illustrious Motor Sports history, including those who made it possible. There will be a variety of family entertainment for all ages, commercial vendors, door prizes for the general public, special guests and just a great time for all. Motor Sports 2008 is proudly sponsored by Red Wind Casino, Walt's Auto Care Centers, Shucks Auto Parts and the Tacoma News Tribune. Hydroplane Racing in the Tri-Cities  David D. Williams, Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum Director, has been driving unlimited hydroplanes since 1993. This is his sixth book on the subject of hydroplane racing, and it was published in June, 2008. David reports the new book focuses on the history of hydroplane racing in the Tri-Cities. It is 128 pages, and contains more than 215 photos from the likes of Bill Osborne, Chris Denslow and Steve Conner. It sells for only $19.95 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum. Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland sit along the banks of the Columbia River and form a large, vibrant community in Washington known as "the Tri-Cities." For over 40 years, tens of thousands of fans have come to the Columbia River to enjoy a day in the sun and watch the Columbia Cup Unlimited Hydroplane Race. Famous drivers like Bill Muncey, Dean Chenoweth, Chip Hanauer, and Dave Villwock have all come to Tri-Cities and battled deck-to-deck to win the Columbia Cup. The mission of the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum in Kent, Washington, is to honor, celebrate, and preserve the legacy of Unlimited Hydroplane Racing. The museum has generously offered its extensive collection of hydroplane photographs to Hydroplane Racing in the Tri-Cities.
