Come and join the Cypress Ski
Club program! It is packed with programs for ages 6 years old and upwards. The
club has an active membership of volunteers who work extremely hard to make
Cypress Ski Club one of the best environments for alpine skiing development.
Our Nancy Greene Ski League is one of the biggest in BC and has led to some
children going on in K1 and K2 to represent Canada at the National
Championships. To find out more information regarding costs and start dates,

NEWS
MT Hood Camp, great success! The
K2's who attended the training camp in MT Hood were great to work with, everyone
was very focussed on their training and saw some significant improvements.
We enjoyed some excellent conditions on the glacier and found some great hikes
and lakes for dryland training in the afternoons. Well done to everyone
for working hard and being great ambassadors for Cypress Ski Club.

*Please
note the start time is the first time and the finish time is the last time. The
tests take approximately 2-2 ½ hours to complete so athletes must show up within
20 minutes of the start time.
K1/K2 Parents Evening – Monday 15th
September, Esplanade Room, Harry Jerome Centre, North Vancouver 6.45-8pm. This
evening will be an open info night for new and past parent members to come along
and hear about this year’s program, the race schedule and info on club events
and camps for the season.
CSC Cabin Work Party – Sunday 21st
September, 10am. We need volunteers to come and help clear out the cabin and
help do some repairs before the season kicks off. If you can help please meet
at CSC Cabin at Cypress Mountain, 10am and bring some gloves, hammer, drill if
you have it and your sense of humour!
BC Alpine AGM – Saturday 4th October for
all Coaches, Club Board members and interested parents. There will be a workshop
for Coaches at approx 2.30pm after the AGm for Entry Level Coaching and
Planning, there will also be a workshop for Club Planning, Strategies and
development on at the same time for board members and parents to attend.
Vancouver Snow Show – 4th /5th
October, BC Place. We will be looking for parents and children to help out at
the CSC stand at the snowshow, giving out flyers and talking to members of the
public about our club. This is a great opportunity to meet up with other
members before the season and get involved in a club event.
Colorado Camp – This is a pre-season K2 camp. Dates
1st-12th Nov, Copper Mountain, Colorado, USA. Shona will
email info out to all K2 families soon.
Sun Peaks Camp – We hope to run a camp to Sun Peaks
for all K1 and K2 athletes at the end of Nov. There will be more info on this at
the Parents Evening on the 15th Sept.
