Our Story

When I started to coach soccer I did a couple of important things. I went to coaching schools to get international certification and I purchased all the soccer coaching materials I could find: books, video tapes (CDs came later), and so on. I went and watched other teams practice, around the world. To prepare for my own team's practices, I looked at all the info I had, drew up the drills and brought a bunch of papers to the field. That became messy and I decided to neatly write each practice plan on a single piece of paper. Then, during my 20 years of coaching at all levels (kids mini soccer to university and adult amateur), fellow coaches kept asking me what the piece of paper was on my clipboard. When I showed them the complete practice plan, the response was: "Wow, I wish we could buy something like this". And that is how the idea for Print & Go Soccer Drills and Practice Plans came about.I then put together a professional soccer coaching team with a combined coaching experience of over 100 years to develop the best player and team development program anywhere! The result: Effective and entertaining soccer practice plans. We've done this for you and ensured that our practices work by testing them with real teams. Then there were more questions: What about a season plan? What about the team focus? Fitness training: yes or no? During practice or separate sessions? Scrimmages? Speed and mental training? Where are the specific soccer drills for that? How about flexibility and stretching exercises? Any difference between age groups? You will find these questions answered comprehensively only in our soccer coaching books. We also developed a tool for you to develop hundreds of additional practices. You decide on a focus for the season and a theme for the practice and combine the drills to make it happen. If you want to run a practice involving more passing, use exercises with passing themes. Or sequence warm-up-technical-technical-tactical-scrimmage.And finally, how would we get these materials to coaches who needed the right away? The answer: Downloadable books (e-books) that you can access from anywhere in the world at any time. The printed material is supplemented by pictures of soccer specific stretches and soccer moves and by the soccer tips published on our web site Soccer Drills and Soccer Practice PlansThe Soccer Practice PlansOur practice books have more than 70 pages packed with pure soccer practice info - no paper wasted. Our kids (4-8) and youth (9-12) practices are ideally suited for rookie coaches. All you need to do is print today's practice, pack up your equipment bag and head out to the field. Our competitive book is providing advanced soccer drills and practice plans for coaches and teams in a competitive environment, such as university, college, adult amateur or competitive youth soccer. Our goalkeeping book takes your soccer goalkeeper to the next level in skills, flexibility, reaction, fitness and game tactics. Your goalies need specialized practices - don't let them be on their own or neglect them by having someone take shots on them. No matter how good they are, they need to train as much as any other player. Our soccer goalie drills can be used by two goalies working together or a knowledgable assistant coach !Our indoor soccer book is for practicing inside or in small spaces developing soccer skills and fitness in fun sessions. Each book has 10 completely worked out soccer practice plans, each with 80 soccer drills, following the sequence of warm-up, technical (skill) drill, fitness drill, tactical drill and scrimmage. Each drill and practice plan is on a single page that fits on your clipboard. And, we show you how you can develop 100's more practices with our drill matrix.Examples of soccer drills found in the books:ball control, passing and receiving1v1 attacking, shooting and headersodd-man attacking and defendingfast break and flank attackchange of direction dribblinganticipation, decision making and reaction speedsoverlap passingcut-backspassing - dribbling - shooting combinationsdefending more than one goalrunning drills such as pass-turn-pass and pass-turn-shoottransition play1 v 1 to 8 v 8 scrimmagesTo view book details, click:Kids SoccerYouth SoccerCompetitive SoccerSoccer Goalkeeper Drills and PracticesIndoor SoccerFor your soccer coaching library, we offer a selection of the best worldwide:300 soccer drillsWe also offer free materials:free soccer drillsOur Soccer Coaching PhilosophyPractices need to flow and keep players moving with a ball at all times. Players must be challenged with the drills and be able to feel a satisfaction from progressing throughout the session. Drills must be interesting and vary across skills, tactics, strategies, mental and physical fitness and team building. As coach, you need to minimize your involvement - easy demonstration of the drill and then only interrupt when necessary. Let the players figure things out!Check a soccer drill technical soccer drillOur practice plans are designed so that you can set up all drills in advance and then work through the practice sequence without wasting time moving cones around.Try a free practice plan soccer practice planPractices and drills must tie in to the team's developmental and strategic goals for the season. We offer a variety of practice sequences depending on the priorities you pick for your team !All our sessions are designed to be conducted on a half field, but most can be expanded to full field if space is available.About our Soccer Systems of Play BookThe ConceptOnce we got going with the practice books, our coaches started asking us questions like: " I have never coached full field; how do I set up my team?" or "My players have these kind of skills, where do I best place them? What system would be best suited for us?"We wondered why coaches were coming to us with these questions, so we did some checking amongst available publications and resources. What we discovered were either very in-depth materials dealing extensively with issues like zonal defending. Or there were very superficial treatments of positional play, not really useful for anybody. We decided to create a single source of information that covered all modern soccer systems of play. We also wanted to give the coach critical information such as team and coaching requirements, adapting tactics based on reading game situations, and player - to - position matching. We show you the most current systems of play for full field soccer (11v11), and small-sided soccer (indoor 6v6 and outdoor 8v8). Each formation and its variations are reviewed on a single page. The second page shows the starting line-up, typical defensive, transitional and attacking situations. The practices and drills in our Print & Go Practice Books available at Soccer Drills and Soccer Practice Plans are designed to support any system. Our PhilosophyChoosing a system of play and game strategy is one the most important and first decision a coach must make for the team. Two major approaches exist:The coach prefers a particular formation and recruits players to fit, or trains available players to conform. The coach evaluates available talent, the likely opposition, and then selects a system most suited for the circumstances. Both philosophies are valid. What is important is to recognize the particular situation and choose the best approach. For example, with a short pre-season and little or no recruiting, philosophy # 2 is likely more successful. A longer pre-season and a recruiting program favour philosophy # 1.Soccer Systems Book DesignEach system has an introduction page that provides an overview of the system, which could be historical, philosophical, psychological or strategic. It describes the team requirements to play the particular system, players' skill needs, physical fitness and mental preparation demands. We provide coaching requirements to set expectations and how to develop the team.We discuss game strategy, strengths and vulnerabilities and how to respond to opponents in key situations. The second page of each system has four diagrams with accompanying instructions. The first diagram shows the starting line-ups and describes responsibilities of each player. The second, third and fourth diagrams show positional plays for defending, midfield, transitioning and attacking. Player movement and tactics are indicated. Please enjoy our soccer practice plans and all of the fun and free materials on our web site.Tom Sauder, PresidentSoccer TipsSystems of play, strategy and tactics: Soccer Systems of PlayFirst time coaching 11-a-side: 11-a-sideFirst time coaching 6 -a-side: 6-a-sideseason Management: soccer season managementkey skill factors: soccer skill success factorsnutrition: soccer specific nutritionmanaging practices/games in bad weather: managing bad weatheroff-season skill and training plans: off-season trainingsprinting skill development: sprintingteam fitness: team-fitnessGoalkeeping basics: soccer goalkeeping basicsGoalkeeper warm-up: soccer goalkeeper warmupmental preparation for 6-12 year olds: mentalprep 6-10 yrteam harmony: team harmonyspeed development using hurdles: hurdlessoccer shoes and goalie gloves: shoe and glove selectionteam communication: communicationtip for game management: game managementpractice intensity selection: practice intensitydealing with parents: parentsplanning practices: planning practicestryout practices: tryoutsteam staff: team staffWhat's New?We have added a soccer tryout package a free bonus download with our combo packs.
