Welcome to the 2008 Island Cup Mountain Bike Race Series website. Vancouver Island has been home to many classic mountain bike races over the history of the mountain bike, and with 2008 we mark over 20 years of racing and hopefully a push towards many more years of racing. A new insurance group, new reduced fees, more events and hopefully more fun will make this a wonderful year of racing. If you're a first timer, seasoned pro or just out to have some fun we would love to see you experience mountain bike racing on Vancouver Island. Check by the local shops for more information, browse our forums for discussions of upcoming and past events and find results and photos posted for your viewing pleasure.
Duncan Marathon Cancelled.

Island Cup Chooses GRMBA
 New for 2008, the Island Cup Series will be using the Grass Roots Mountain Bike Association for licenses and insurance for the races. You will need a GRMBA license from one of the GRMBA affiliated clubs to race in the Island Cup Series. Check our club list for the GRMBA affiliated club near you. We will also be having race day license registration so just bring your money to the first race if you haven't had a chance to get signed up.
Why GRMBA? We have decided that the core of the Island Cup is it's focus on grass roots racing. We have found that the GRMBA best meets the needs of our race series for both price and opportunity to open up the races to more riders. We hope to help build the Island Cup Series into the largest and most fun race series in BC!
