 The
Birkhofer Racing team captured yet another 'Liberty 100' title last
weekend at the West Liberty Raceway in West Liberty, Iowa! In preliminary
action on Friday night, October 3, Brian Birkhofer won his heat race
and then competed in a special $2,000 to win Race of Champions. The
Muscatine, Iowa native drew the seventh starting spot for both segments
of the 25-lap race, but still managed to finish a strong second in
the event behind winner Andy Eckrich.
When the Dirt Late Model competition continued on Saturday evening,
Brian rolled off from the inside of the second row for the annual
'Liberty 100.' The driver known as the "Muscatine Madman"
took the lead early in the 100-lap main event and proved to be the
class of the field. Brian lapped cars well inside of the top ten en
route to capturing the $7,000 top prize over Andy Eckrich, Dave Eckrich,
Ron Boyse, and Mike Fryer. You can view complete results from last

 Brian
Birkhofer and his #15b team traveled west to the Knoxville Raceway
in Knoxville, Iowa last weekend (September 25-27) for the 5th Annual
'Knoxville Late Model Nationals.' Brian, who was the inaugural winner
of this event in 2004, suffered mechanical woes in Thursday's $7,000
to win preliminary show and did not transfer into the main event.
However, the Muscatine, Iowa native rebounded on Friday, as he won
his heat race and later finished thirteenth in the 25-lap, $7,000
to win feature.
After not receiving the point total needed from preliminary action
to crack the top twenty-four, Brian was forced to compete in the B-Main
on Saturday evening, September 27. The driver known as the "Muscatine
Madman" won the consolation race, which earned him the twenty-fifth
starting position in the 100-lap, $40,000 to win 'Knoxville Late Model
Nationals.' In front of the SPEED Channel cameras in the A-Main, Brian
primarily used the bottom groove of the 1/2-mile gumbo oval to pass
eighteen cars en route to a popular seventh place performance. You

 The
Birkhofer Racing team, fresh off a rare weekend off from Dirt Late
Model competition, invaded the famed 1/4-mile, semi-banked oval of
the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Friday and Saturday,
September 19-20. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the
annual running of the 'Jackson 100' over the weekend and a $20,000
top prize was up for grabs. Brian Birkhofer timed in third quickest
in his group during time trials on Friday night to get the weekend
started.
When the action resumed at the Jackson County Fairgrounds venue on
Saturday evening, Brian ran a strong second in his heat race to advance
into the 100-lap main event. In front of the SPEED Channel cameras
in the 'Jackson 100,' Brian started in the eighth position and had
his sights set on a solid performance. Unfortunately with his car
not performing quite up to his expectations, the 2001 'Jackson 100'
winner retired from the star-studded event in the twenty-first spot.

 Brian
Birkhofer and the #15b team made their annual trek to the Eldora Speedway
in Rossburg, Ohio last weekend for the running of the 'World 100.'
This year's version of the prestigious race paid $41,000 to the winner
and drew 175 entrants. Brian timed in forty-ninth quickest in qualifying
on Friday night, September 5 and later ran second in the first heat
race on Saturday evening. The Muscatine, Iowa native then rolled off
from the inside of the fourth row for the 100-lap main event.
Unfortunately, the driver known as the "Muscatine Madman"
spun in turn four on the initial start of the 'World 100,' which relegated
him to the tail of the stout field. Brian sported a great racecar
after the spin and over the course of the race, he advanced back up
to the seventh position. He wound up finishing behind only winner
Shane Clanton, Jimmy Owens, Jeep Van Wormer, Matt Miller, Tim McCreadie,
