From time to time we pass on information about products or services which we think our readers would be interested in, and which we also believe to be good value.
We can personally vouch for The Cheltenham Racing Club because we are members and have enjoyed some great seasons with them.
There are many ways to become involved with racehorses but if you go racing at Cheltenham and are interested in an inexpensive way to get closer to the action this is it! Annual membership for this season is only £376.00 including vat.
We think this is a bargain, not only is the annual fee very reasonable but with the bonus of tickets to a day at the Festival and other meetings it is even more of a bargain! We have a lot of fun and get to know different trainers and horses, we have enjoyed some great breakfasts at pubs local to the trainer's yards too and many of us have made friends through the club.
Cheltenham Racing Ltd., was launched in the Summer of 1993 with the aim of giving its members the thrill of involvement with racehorses and the dream of winning races at Cheltenham - a feat achieved five times to date. Gold Cup winning trainer David Nicholson (who purchased and trained Zaitoon to win six races) was an Honorary and Lifetime Member of the Company and since his death Mrs Dinah Nicholson has become our President.
We currently have 3 horses, an un-named mare with Alan King, Dillay Brook with Tom George and Prestbury Knight with Nigel Twiston-Davies. Pressie as we call him, has been a star for us and is resting on his road to recovery from injury but should be back soon. Come join us and help us name the new mare!!
Each time our horses run, you will have the opportunity to receive discounted admission to the course in question (or free admission if the race is here at Cheltenham) and you will also receive two FREE Club badges and a Car Label for a day at The Festival in March, plus a complimentary ticket for a day at The Showcase in October, the Friday of Boylesports International in December, New Year's Day and a day at the April Meeting.
The subscription charge for new Members in 2008/09 is £376 including VAT, but there is a 20% discount available for Cheltenham Racecourse Annual Members who join before the end of September.

ALAN KING RACING
Just a reminder that Alan still has a few copies of his stable brochure for sale, proceeds to charity, to obtain one click on the icon on his website. Other than all the obvious stars at Barbury Castle we have a horse to follow this season - Gaye Starlet, a filly who was injured last season, belongs to the Racegoers Club and is sure to sneak her way to the front at some point. Very exciting prospect, keep an eye on her.

GIRL POWER AS ZARKAVA TAKES THE PRIX de L'ARC de TRIOMPHE

The long time favourite Zarkava provided believers with a fantastic performance to win the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp. The Aga Khan filly appeared to be something special all season and indeed she is!
She was not drawn well and was behind early on but showed superb acceleration in the closing stages to win comfortably.
"She's beautiful, it was perfect," trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre told BBC Sport. "She's the best horse I've had."
Zarkava became one of a select band of fillies tough and talented enough to win the Arc, the last one being Urban Sea in 1993. Urban Sea has achieved further immortality - she is the dam of Coolmore sire Galileo.
Mick Channon's Youmzain ran another game race to finish runner-up for the second year in a row and you have to feel a little sorry for this top class, genuine horse who probably never gets the credit he deserves.
