There has been a RITTA club in existence since 1945. The original club was in Providence. In the 70s, the club moved to Warwick. In the 80s, the present club in Manville was opened. In the 90s a satellite club was opened in East Greenwich.   R.I. TABLE TENNIS With the help of a new partnership with TableTennisRocks.com we have ambitious tournament plans for 2008 including 8 sanctioned events with TableTennisRocks, our RI Open in April, and the RI Senior Games later in the year. That is 10 events this year (including NINE USATT SANTIONED TOURNAMENTS). THE NEXT TOURNAMENT IS June 15th. Steve Hopkins and Xue Di have passed off ownership of the title for each of the last 5 years. Congratulations to Nam for helping to raise the level of play at the club. Nov/2007 - Steve Hopkins and Nam Trinh anchored Team Rhode Island at the North American Team's Championship.... moving up two divisions to finish in Division C. Nov/2007 - Richard Bowling of RI won the November Giant Round Robin by defeating Richard DeWitt of CT Sept/2007 - Tournaments in September and October *Spinmania (Steve, Rich, and Nam are all going) in Shelton CT on Sept 1 and 2 - These directions will get you within one block *Westfield NJ(Steve is going) on Sept 8 and 9 *Nashua NH on Oct 6 and 7 Aug/2007 - Richard Bowling won the Summer League (Steve Hopkins finished second) -- The Fall League begins on September 10th. Aug/2007 -The club is now selling equipment on-site. We have a selection of Friendship, LKT, and Gambler equipment including paddles, rubber sheets, and cases. Rubber sheets are $12 each    New Photos Added From A League: 10/8/07   DIRECTIONS: From Southern Rhode Island / Connecticut take I-95 North to I-295 North. Take exit # 9B onto Rte. 146 North. Take the exit for Rte. 99 North. Then take first exit to Sayles Hill Road. At the bottom of the exit, turn right onto Sayles Hill Road and travel a 1/2 mile. Just past the flashing yellow light, take a sharp left onto Division Street. Go straight down the hill and turn right onto Railroad Street. The Club is 1/8 mile down on the right above the Manville Post Office. Enter the door facing Railroad Street. From Providence take I-95 to exit 23 onto Rte. 146. Stay right at the I-295 Interchange and follow signs to Rte. #99 North. Follow above directions. From Boston : take I-95 South to I-295 South to exit #10- Rte. 122 North to Rte. 120- turn left on Rte. 120 @ Mobil/Exxon gas to traffic light @ bottom of hill-turn right- RITTA is located in 2nd building on left over Post Office. From Worcester: Rte. 146 South to Sayles Hill Road (at traffic light across from Sunoco station). Turn left onto Sayles Hill Rd. & follow above directions to the club.
