1991 Track team to be inducted to JC Hall of Fame 10/2/2008
The 1991 Jimmie Women's Track Team will be inducted into the JC Hall of Fame at Homecoming Activities this weekend. The Hall of Fame banquet is set for 9 AM on Saturday in L2 at the Nafus Center. They will also be recognized at half-time of the homecoming game set for 1:00 at Rollie Greeno Field.
Track Alum, Dr. Ida Allen Recognized at Convocation 9/26/2008
Jimmie Track alumnus, Dr. Ida Allen Bergman, class of 1999, was recognized Thursday as a Jamestown College Young Alumni Medallion Recipient in a ceremony at Reiland Auditorium. Ida also recognized coach Jim Clark for his mentorship during her time at JC.
Cassie Dellwo Qualifies for Finals, Places 9th in NAIA National Hammer Throw 5/22/2008
Jamestown College senior Cassie Dellwo threw 154' 4" in the Hammer Throw at the NAIA National Outdoor Track & Field Championships to place 9th in the event. Cassie qualified for finals (top 9) after coming into the meet seeded 11th. Cassie is from Polson, MT and graduated from Jamestown College on May 3. The event was won by Aubrey Baxter of Black Hills with a new national record of 198' 9".
Coach Clark quotes, "What an appropriate way for Cassie to finish her career! She had all of her best throws and series of throws in the last 3 weeks of the season and she finished strong and consistent. She worked hard on the hammer for 4 years and it paid off with this opportunity, which she seized and made the most of. Qualifying for finals at the national meet and getting those extra throws against that great competition is a victory in itself. It is a credit to Cassie and her coach, Kathryn Lemm. I am happy for both of them."
