Eastern Nazarene heads down to Salve Regina University for another TCCC match up on Wednesday, February 20th.      EASTERN NAZARENE IN OWN PURSUIT OF PROGRESS   February 12th, 2008.  Henniker, NH – The Eastern Nazarene College Crusaders fell to the Pilgrims of New England College, 86-56, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) action tonight.  The Pilgrims jumped out to an early 11-2 lead at the 13:06 mark.  The Crusaders battled back to trail by just five points at 16-11 with 10:11 remaining in the half but NEC would hit seven three pointers in the next seven minutes to give the home side the 46-29 halftime lead. NEC continued to push the lead building an early 25 point second half lead.  The Crusaders closed to within 17, but NEC shot a season high, 56% from the field, leading them to the 86-56 victory.Leading the way for Eastern Nazarene was SO/F Jessica Schoppee (Scarborough,Maine) who finished with a team-high 15 points.  ENC’s co-captain JR/G Amanda Remmel (Allentown,Pa.) chipped in 13 points and FR/F Amber Burns (Fall River,Mass.) finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.      Eastern Nazarene Knocked Down, 58-39, ButStands Back Up.   February 9th, 2008.  Quincy, Mass.  From the tip-off the Colonels of Curry College revealed exactly what their strategy would be today, full court-trap the ball, all the time pressure.  The strategy worked as the visitors picked the Crusaders pockets for 23 steals directly responsible for 22 of their 58 points in this The Commonwealth Coast Conference match up.  With the Crusaders getting JR/G Rebekah Sorensen (Quincy, MA) back from injury, they were to better able manage the ball, though still going into halftime down by fourteen, 29-15, to the Colonels.  The Colonels continued pressing and the legs of the Crusaders gave way to the deep bench of the visitors and to the final score line of 58-39.  Nine different Colonels would score as all twelve players received more than eight minutes of play this game. Eastern Nazarne's JR/G Amanda Remmel (Allentown, PA) led the Crusaders with 13 points and SO/F Jessica Schoppee (Scarborough, ME) followed with 11 points and 9 rebounds while playing 39 of 40 minutes in the game.  Co-captains Remmel and Cristina Winchester (West Haven, CT) were perfect on the free throw line going 7 for 7 and 8 for 8 respectively.  Eastern Nazarene falls to 5-16, 1-8 in the TCCC and heads to New England College next Tuesday, February 12th in another TCCC match up.       Eastern Nazarene held to season low, 81-23.  February 6, 2008 Quincy, Mass.-  The Golden Bears of Western New England took the game to the Crusaders from start to finish ending up with a 81-23 win.  The Crusaders could not prevent an opening 19-0 run which allowed the visitor's to go into have leading 41-10.  Eastern Nazarene’s SO/G Jessica Schoppee (Scarborough, ME) led the Crusaders with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.  Eastern Nazarene (5-15, 1-7) hosts Curry College on Saturday, February 9 at 1:00 PM.   Crusaders End Thirteen Game Drought led by Schoppee's 19. The Engineer’s hands and feet proved to be to quick as the turnovers mounted into 21 of their 56 points.  Cracking the Engineer’s pressure at times was FR/F Amber Burns (Fall River, MA), who drove the lane to be fouled and crashed the boards on every opportunity, inserting her physical presence on the game.  In so doing, Burns put up her first double-double of the season scoring 10 points, 5 of 9 from the field, while pulling down 12 rebounds. Eastern Nazarene hosts UNE this Wednesday, January 23rd at 6:00 PM in a TCCC match up.  -ENC Athletics (Contributing Writer's Tom Newell and Justen Smith)   Eastern Nazarene falls in final minute, 46-43. January 19, 2008 Quincy, Mass. After climbing back from a 12 point deficit, the Crusaders were stymied by the Scot defense only to turn the ball, and game, back over to Gordon.  Trailing 30-18 with 10:33 remaining, the Crusaders went on a long eight and a half minute 25-11 run to out score the visiting Scot’s and regain the lead, 43-41.  It was JR/G Amanda Remmel’s (Allentown, PA) shot from behind the arc that recaptured what the Scot’s had taken at 13:30 gone by in the first half.   But the Scot’s late 5-0 run, hitting 5 of 8 shots from the free throw line sealed the victory.  In a low scoring game, marked with a combined 64 turnovers between the two sides, the Crusaders held a 6-1 lead with 5 minutes gone by.  The Fighting Scots responded however as the visitors went into half time leading 18-14.  The visitor’s came out strong by going on a 12-4 run and taking a 30-18 lead.  The Crusaders shot began to fall though and the home team slowly grabbed grabbed the momentum back as they went on the second half run that took them to the games final seconds.  Foul trouble early in the second half hurt the Crusaders forcing key players to have limited minutes as well as putting the Scot’s on the free throw line in the double bonus with 8 minutes still remaining in the game.  The Fighting Scots made 14 free throws in the second half to seal the victory.  Eastern Nazarene’s SO/F Jessica Schoppee (Scarborough, ME) led all scorer’s in the game as she dominated the key going 9-17 from the field for 19 total points, brought down 9 rebounds and swatted 7 Scot shots.  She was followed by Remmel’s 11 points and 7 rebounds.  Eastern Nazarene hosts MIT on Monday, January 21st at 7:00 pm.
