Brad Snead
HEAD COACH
Brad Snead embarks on his second season leading the women’s program after assisting the men’s basketball squad for nine years. Coach Snead brings to the women’s sidelines intensity and expertise in teaching the games’ fundamentals. He has worked in every facet of the game including game strategy preparation, directing practice sessions and working diligently as a recruiter. As a matter of fact, the Chiefs won more than 72 percent of their games during his time with the men’s program. Snead clearly looks to continue that type of success with the Lady Chiefs.
Prior to coaching at Waubonsee, Snead was head freshman basketball coach at his alma mater, Marmion Military Academy. A 1994 graduate, Snead averaged 18 points a game his senior year en route to being named All-Suburban Catholic Conference. He was also selected as the Cadets’ team MVP. Snead went on to play golf and basketball for NCAA Division III affiliate Aurora University.
Coach Snead also directs the Aurora Youth Basketball/Little Chiefs basketball clinics. More than 900 boys and girls have participated in the AYB/Little Chiefs program in the last nine years. Snead also spends his summers working and running basketball camps. In the past he has participated in camps for Basketball Skills International, Old Dominion University and the U.S. Naval Academy. He is the currently the President of Aurora Youth Basketball and resides in Sugar Grove.
Kristin Jury
Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach
Kristin Jury joins the Waubonsee coaching staff this season as an assistant coach. She brings a wealth of knowledge as a former player and overall sports enthusiast to the Lady Chiefs’ program. Coach Jury has assisted with basketball camps in Atlanta, Georgia and guided a title winning high school level girls’ squad in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Jury graduated from Edgewood Senior High School in Ohio where she was a three-year varsity standout in basketball and softball. She was named to several All-Northeast Conference (NEC) teams in each sport and also played volleyball during her prep career. Jury capped off her senior year by earning Edgewood’s Warrior of the Year honor as the most outstanding female athlete. She went on to play two years of basketball at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. As team captain Jury led a youthful Golden Tornadoes squad in assists en route to an NAIA District 18 title.
Never straying too far from athletic endeavors, Jury currently is working toward a degree in Physical Education. She lives in Batavia where she helps coach daughter Morgan’s sixth-grade basketball team, while also cheering on son Austin who is a junior football player for the Batavia Bulldogs.
