NSBA YOUTH MEMBERSHIP MEETING
The NSBA Youth Annual Membership Meeting is scheduled for October 18, 2008 at 5:00 pm in the Voinovich Building – this meeting is sponsored by the NSBA Youth; come and learn about the NSBA Youth Program.
NSBA ALLIANCE PARTNERS OFFER NSBA APPROVED CLASSES IN OCTOBER
The All American Quarter Horse Congress will offer approval for a full slate of Dual Approved classes including novice classes as well as the Futurity and Stakes classes. In addition this year the Masters 2-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure and Masters 2-Year-Old Open Hunter under Saddle slot classes will be NSBA approved.
The Appaloosa Horse Club will be hosting a large number of NSBA Dual Approved classes at their World Championship Show.
NEW DISCIPLINES IN 2009 - Working Hunter and Hunter Hack
NSBA is proud to announce the addition of the working hunter and hunter hack disciplines to the Association. Beginning in January of 2009 a full slate of working hunter and hunter hack classes will be available for approval as both futurity and dual approved classes.

NEW for 2009! A minimum of two categories must be held in order to have an approved NSBA event. You may hold these classes alone or in conjunction with any other NSBA recognized Breed Association show.

 STALLION INCENTIVE FUND (SIF) CLASSES
NSBA SIF classes are offered at shows regionally throughout the United States beginning in July. To be eligible to compete in the SIF classes all horses must show an Incentive Fund License. Only licensed horses sired by a sold stallion in the competition year are eligible. NOTE: If the sire of the horse to be shown in the SIF class is being “grandfathered” for the foaling year, the Grandfather Clause Stallion Nomination form must be submitted by May 15th of the competition year. The SIF classes available are: Two-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure $1000 added, Three-Year-Old Non-Pro Western Pleasure $500 added, and Three-Year-Old Open Hunter under Saddle $1000 added. The entry fee is $75 payable on the day of the show. Both the owner and exhibitor must be current members, no show passes are allowed. All horses showing in the SIF Classes in 2008 must be licensed.
All SIF classes are all breed. There are no separate AQHA and Color Breed classes.

[Incentive Cash Awards]
Incentive Fund Licensed horses will be eligible to earn NSBA Incentive Fund points at Dual Approved shows earning cash value. Payout for Dual Approved points will be based on the purse of the sold stallions for the current year less payouts for SIF classes. Projected payout is $80 per point.
Important Information regarding SIF Eligibility:
Stallions may not be “grandfathered” for the 2008 foaling year. The Grandfather Clause is only for stallions not enrolled or sold in the SIF program prior to 2008. This means that for 2008 foals to be eligible for Licensing and for 2 & 3 year old offspring to be eligible for SIF classes, the breeding MUST sell by May 15th!
For offspring of a “grandfathered” stallion for the foaling years 2005 and 2006 to compete in the 2 and 3 year old SIF classes, the Grandfather Clause Stallion Nomination Form must be submitted to the NSBA office by the May 15th stallion nomination deadline.

NSBA World Championship Show becomes a QUALIFYING show in 2009
All classes that are available through the Dual Approved Program
will be qualifying classes at the 2009 NSBA World Championship Show;
with the exception of the Two-Year-Olds, Longe Liners and Novice
