The State Agency for National Security is to examine the ownership of the football club before and after its registration as a professional one in 1999. On the other hand, the National Revenue Agency is going to make an overall tax revision for the period between 2002 and 2007 and a revision of the managers' incomes at the same time. The two state institutions have to announce the results of the investigations in the framework of their competences, according to the premier's order. Now, the Bulgarian champion could declare bankruptcy and its license for the professional league could also be revoked, which meant it would have to play in the "Division C" next season. It is still believed the debts of CSKA could be settled by August 9, when the Bulgarian championship begins. Meanwhile, the President of the Club Alexandar Tomov announced his resignation and was expected to be replaced by one of CSKA's biggest ever stars, Emil Kostadinov. 06.06.2008 - UEFA confirms Bulgarian CSKA not licensed for Champions League CSKA abandoned all hopes for participating in the Champion's League as UEFA refused to grant a delay for issuing a license to the club. The Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) said they received a fax from UEFA, the European governing body of association football, on Wednesday night in response to their request to make an exception and to extend the deadline for CSKA for presenting new documents and evidence. The UEFA administration considered all documents submitted in connection with CSKA's licensing for participation in the Champions League in the 2008/2009 season, as well as the letter sent from the BFU. UEFA said all clubs should be treated equally and no exceptions can be made. So UEFA does not issue a licence and does not admit CSKA to take part in the Champions League in the 2008/2009 season, and this decision is final. Therefore, CSKA becomes one of four football teams which did not receive a licence for participation in European club tournaments due to unfulfilled financial and administrative conditions. The Executive Director of BFU Borislav Popov said Tuesday that CSKA failed to meet 17 different requirements to get a license from BFU. "CSKA has had debts to the state in the last three years, it has not paid the salaries and transfer sums, and it is also in debt to banks and private creditors," said Popov. 30.04.2008 - CSKA Sofia wins its 31st title CSKA Sofia won its record 31st Bulgarian football championship title after a 3:1 away win against Botev Plovdiv. The win secured the title for the Reds three rounds before the end of the season with a 13 point lead ahead of rivals Levski. The match in Plovdiv was played behind closed doors because of a penalty imposed by Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) on Botev. At the same time the second team on the table Levski lost its game against Chernomorets Bourgas by 2:1. The title is extra valuable for CSKA because it comes in the year when the team celebrates its 60th anniversary. Another reward for CSKA is that they will face their main rivals in Bulgaria, Levski, on May 10 as the new champions. CSKA’s president Alexander Tomov already asked BFU to present CSKA with the cup in CSKA‘s stadium at the beginning of the game against Levski. 07.04.2008 - Bulgarian Court Fines Brazilian Football Players for Disturbing Public Peace CSKA Sofia players Marquinhos and Machado as well as Levski's Lucio Wagner has been imposed BGN 200 fines each after they were detained over disturbing the peace by hosting a loud party late on Sunday. The incident happened after neighbors signaled the police over the noise coming from the apartment of CSKA player Filipe Machado, where the party took place. Marquinhos and Wagner complained about police brutality after the arrest. Witnesses say the officers were rude and behaved aggressively hitting the players before the eyes of their friends and Wagner's little son. Marquinhos and Wagner then spent the night in a police department jail. CSKA manager Stoycho Mladenov said he is to collect evidence about the police violence against his players. novinite.com 06.02.2006 - CSKA drew 0:0 with Krilya Sovetov and 1:1 with Jef United Jef United Before the kick off on the game with the Japanese The Reds drew 0:0 in their first friendly of the day with the Russian side Krilya Sovetov.
