Williams finished in just under 5-hours 10-minutes in his first ever A2A.A2A is a legendary event in which skaters race out almost 140km’s of Georgia’s rolling hills from downtown Athens all the way to Piedmont Park in Atlanta.Greenfield Park’s (Montreal) Martine Charbonneau won her 2nd women’s title in as many years. She edged out Minesotta’s Rebecca O’Hearn by 1-second with a time of 4-hours 53-minutes 28-seconds.Toronto’s Herb Gayle finished 2nd overall in the 52-mile event event, 2-seconds shy of first place finisher Robert Clare from Nashville.TISC’s Aaron Arndt was unable to defend his victory from last year’s event. He is currently recovering from a broken leg suffered in a 50-skater crash in the World Inline Cup in Europe this past June.You can find results here and here.  No Comments » |  General |  Permalink Posted by Peter Doucet New York 100k & NYC Skate Marathon- Candy Wong & Morgane Echardour Win 42k October 1, 2008 TISC’s Candy Wong won the advanced 42km at the New York 100k & NYC Skate Marathon this past weekend. Wong, who skated the race in wet & rainy conditions in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, skated a good race to take the win. She won the race finshing under 1 hour 30-minutes after skating with the pro women’s 100k racers. The women’s 100k was won by Quebec’s Martine Charbonneau. Doucet skated a strong race setting himself as one of the strongest skaters in the competitive field. He finished 7th overall. Now that the official TISC season is finished, some members may continue to meet and skate together at the track at Christ the King school and at other mutually arranged places.As of today, the RSC Insurance for TISC Club skating practices ends. The RSC Insurance is valid for all official skating events left on the 2008 calendar and for those who will participate in the November to December months of the Scooter’s Indoor Speed Club season that is due to start November 2nd. More on the Scooter’s Indoor Season later.RSO Points Series Stage 2 (Postponed Event)- the final race of this year’s Roller Sports Ontario Outdoor Speed Series is set for Sunday October 12th. Results from this stage will help determine the final overal & age category results for the 2008 Series.Good Luck to Sarah Hopkins as she leaves for Calgary and training at the Calgary Oval. Sarah also plans to do some Indoor Inlining with the Calgary Roller Speed Club. She will return to Toronto at the end of March.
