Our group originates from the teaching ofthe late Master Lee Shiu-pak, an illustriousteacher and practitioner of Tai Chi who emigrated from China and for manyyears taught Tai Chi in Montreal.Master Lee grew up in Shanghai where he was one of the four seniorstudents of Chen Wai-ming, himself one of the foremost students of YangCheng-fu, the grandson of Yang Lu-chan, the founder of the Yang style ofTai Chi.In the mid 1970's some of Lee Shu-pak's students, includingMargaret-Anne Capper and Barbara Luxton, came to Halifax and beganteaching. Students visited Montreal and Master Lee came on occasion toteach here.
