A name that is almost forgotten within the Benfica camp is David Suazo. The Honduran international is currently recovering from a leg injury he suffered on his Benifca debut against Napoli – a match in which the marksman bagged his first goal for the Lisbon club.
Suazo is almost back to full fitness, saying, “I am on the right path. Against Naval, it is certain that I will be in condition to play. I think I will be able to play before.” The forward admitted he has enjoyed what he has seen from his team-mates and thinks that Benfica are strong candidates to win the championship this season, confidently exclaiming: “Who are favourites? Jose Peseiro insists he was not sacked as coach of Rapid Bucharest, after a spokesman from the Romanian club confirmed that the Portuguese would continue at the helm.
Rapid, who were beaten again at the weekend, spoke to several domestic and foreign-based coaches about replacing Peseiro, but all candidates turned the job down, leading to an extraordinary climb-down from the club and the apparent re-appointment of the Portuguese. >>

Lightning fast striker on a high after “game of my life”
Malaga are hoping to renew the contract of rising star Eliseu Pereira, after the Portuguese’s performance against Recreativo Huelva at the weekend earned him the adulation of the Spanish press.
Eliseu, who joined the Andalusian club from Belenenses when they were in the second division, was the chief protagonist in Malaga’s 4-0 win at the Nuevo Colombino on Saturday. Opening the scoring in the first minute, the 25-year-old went on to set up a goal for countryman Duda before getting his second just after the hour. >>
