Great Britain sprinter Dwain Chambers has welcomed the International Olympic Committee decision to retest samples provided for doping tests at this summer’s Beijing Games.The IOC and the World Anti-Doping Agency will work together to determine how many of the 4,770 samples given during the Olympic Games should be re-examined. The review has been ordered after traces of banned blood-boosting substance EPO Cera were found during a recent re-test of samples from the Tour de France.

Disgraced former Olympic track star Tim Montgomery, once dubbed “the world’s fastest man,” was sentenced Friday to five years in prison for dealing heroin to an informant. Montgomery, 33, will serve the five-year sentence after he completes a 46-month prison term for an unrelated conviction in New York.
